Knowing that the love of God is present in all we do underpins the vision at St Joseph’s. As a school community we believe that providing an environment in which Christian values flourish enables our children to cherish the world in which they live. These values are lived out every day by the whole school community. Our vision is rooted in scripture taken from St John's Gospel 13: 34-35
"I give you a new commandment: love each other.
You must love each other as I have loved you.
All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other"
How do we encourage our children to live the vision?
Children have responsibilities across school, these include School Council, Anti-Bullying ambassadors, Wellbeing Warriors. mini Leaders and iVengers.
Children engage in Community activities as part of the schools Health & Wellbeing sessions.
The School have a chosen charity that they support through school events across the year.
Children understand how Catholic Social teaching interweaves through all aspects of life and are actively encouraged to be stewards for the world in they live and grow,
‘This is an inclusive and happy school where pupils succeed. Leaders have created an ethos that nurtures and supports pupils. They have high aspirations for all pupils. Pupils say that they are happy to come to school. They feel safe and know that adults care about them. Leaders have ensured that pupils’ well-being is at the heart of what the school does. Pupils talk confidently about their well-being. They are proud of their leadership roles. The Anti-Bullying ambassadors support pupils effectively to talk about their concerns. The mini leaders enjoy the responsibility of setting up playtime activities. Pupils meet the high expectations of behaviour. They behave very well. How do we share our vision with parents?
Weekly updates on the 'note home' that share the work we do and ask for parents involvement at home.
Opportunities for parents to join their child in the classroom so they can see what school is like through their child's eyes.
Opportunities for parents to join collective worships, mass and liturgies.
Involvement in events that raise money for the school charity.
SEN support and Mental health support is a collaborative approach and the Mental Health lead and SENCo are contactable. and responsive.
Open door policy ensures that parents feel listened to and valued.

How do staff support and share the vision?
All staff share the philosophy of the vision and live this out.
Staff fully involved in all aspects of school life.
Relationships with colleagues, pupils and parents are positive and supportive.
Links with parishes and the local community are fostered.
